Mint Tree,
I'm running wp 2.3 and experiencing database errors when using the "Custom HTML for Page Menu" option in the Menu section of Presentation. What happens is that as long as this option is in use, I cannot publish, edit, or delete pages. I don't know if this affects blog posts, but it does pages. The "Custom HTML" option prevents the publishing pages, and if you attempt to save an edit to a page or delete a page, you will get database error messages. You can test this yourself on your own 2.3 installation. I can work around this by unchecking the "Custom HTML" option an making changes and then rechecking and saving the option. But that gets old very quickly.
Anyway, I will really look forward to your advice.

Hi Evan, I don't really know if it's due to the Custom HTML Menu or not (since as you can see I'm using it on this site =).
Anyway, I have the editing and saving problem before once I activated an OLD version of "Robots-Meta" plugin. Anyhow, let me know if you still have that problem.

I'll check the robots plugin. However, the database errors are real. Set up a 2.3 installation and try to edit a page or publish a page
Anyway, I'll get back and let you know what I've found.

Ok. I deactivated the plugin. This allowed me to publish a page, but when I deleted it, I got this error message:
WordPress database error: [Table 'proprodu_proproddb.wp_post2cat' doesn't exist]
SELECT cat_ID AS ID, MAX(post_modified) AS last_mod FROM `wp_posts` p LEFT JOIN `wp_post2cat` pc ON p.ID = pc.post_id LEFT JOIN `wp_categories` c ON pc.category_id = c.cat_ID WHERE post_status = 'publish' GROUP BY cat_ID

What does this mean?

That means that in your DB there's no wp_post2cat, which is part of the WordPress 2.0-2.2x DB. However, in WordPress 2.3x, there is no DB tables for wp_post2cat. *This error is may be due to a plugin not compatible with WP 2.3x.
Also, did you upgrade or do a brand new installation of WordPress version 2.3x?
If you haven't, go to wordpress.org to download WP 2.3.3 (not WP 2.5 - it sucks!). Unzip and upload the file to your “wordpress” installed folder.
Important: please follow the BACKUP step on WordPress.org before you upload/override the new WP 2.3.3 files into your existing “wordpress” installed folder. *Basically, you will need to back up the database (using the “WordPress Backup Database plugin” included in my package), the “wp-config.php” file, and your whole “wp-content” folder.
In other word, when you upload the new 2.3.3 files into the existing ones, override all the other files but NOT the “wp-content” folder and “wp-config.php” file.
Go to view your site, and you should get an “Upgrade” screen, if you're using WP version lower than 2.3.3. Follow the direction on there.

Thank you again. I upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3. I followed the instructions on the codex.wordpress.org site, so I should be able to do the upgrade to 2.3.3. I guess I thought that the upgrade would have taken care of the problems. I'll let you know how things go.
On a different note: What code would I use to exclude certain page titles from appearing in the pages wideget, and where would I put it? That is, I have the pages menu showing in my right sidebar. I want to exclude a few of the pages, such as contact, privacy, and so forth, which are shown in the header menu bar.

I don't know if I included the "Page Links Manager plugin" or not, but just activate that plugin and go to "Manage => Page Links" to manage the display of your WordPress Pages. *Note: if you also use WordPress Pages on the Header Menu, you may need to use a custom HTML for that menu, because the "Page Links Manager" plugin affects all WordPress Pages.

I'm going to try to do the upgrade this morning before going to work. Thank you for the tip about the page links manager. Right now, I am using the Custom HTML option for the page menu in the header but want to remove redundant links in the sidebar. Thank you again for the tips. I'll let you know what happens. If you hear me scream, you'll know I accidentally deleted the site.

Hi. Upgrade to 2.3.3 completed and the problem with database errors and pages seems to have been resolved. Thank you very much!
By the way, why don't you like 2.5? You seemed to have a very definite opinion about that.
